Silk Care

Silk is a delicate fabric that requires special care. By following these simple steps, you can keep your garments beautiful.

Hand wash

  • Fill a basin or sink with cold water.
  • Add a gentle detergent specifically for silk.
  • Immerse the garment and move it gently, avoiding excessive rubbing.

Rinse

  • Drain the soapy water and refill with clean cold water.
  • Rinse the garment until all soap residue is removed.
  • Do not wring or twist your head.
  • Wrap it in a clean towel and press gently to remove the water.

Drying

  • Lay the garment flat on a towel, clothes horse or hanger, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
  • Do not hang silk that is soaked in water

Ironing

  • Iron the garment inside out at a low temperature while it is still slightly damp.
  • Avoid steam, which could damage the fibers.
  • If you need to iron georgette or chiffon, you can also do it vertically, steaming the hanging garment in just a few minutes.

Conservation

  • Fold and store the garment in a drawer or on a shelf.
  • Avoid hanging it for long periods.
